What you will learn
In this 3-in-1 workshop you will leave with both a deeper understanding of your child’s current developmental level and with routines to follow at home to boost their development and improve the brain functions involved in sleep, speech development and social skills.
Part 1: Sleep
So many things improve as soon as you start to experience deep, restful sleep every night!
The good news is that the brain controls most of the elements of health that are involved in a good night’s sleep, including neurotransmitter regulation, the circadian rhythm, sensory processing, thermoregulation, relaxation of muscles, digestion, mood and stress response, urinary retention, etc.
Areas covered in the workshop
– Brain plasticity and what kind of sensory, cognitive, and motor experiences can influence brain growth and brain function.
– How the brain regulates sleep.
– The Mendability Bedtime routine that has helped our clients get full nights’ sleep within a couple of weeks.
– 3 Mendability routines proven to improve brain functions involved in sleep.
Part 2: Speech
Imagine the joy of seeing your child express themselves and connect more meaningfully through natural conversations with others.
There are 12 main stages of speech development that lead to a full spontaneous conversation. It starts when you first establish an emotional connection with other people.
Areas covered in the workshop
– The 12 stages of speech development and why some children get “stuck” sometimes in one or more of these stages.
– 6 Mendability routines to prompt development in brain functions involved in speech development, such as fine motor skills, auditory and visual processing, memory, emotional connection, etc.
Part 3: Social Skills
That doesn’t come from skills training. It comes from the inside, and the brain is the key that unlocks that door.
You can memorize social rules and routines, but what you are looking for is being comfortable around other people, being able to read body language, able to negotiate between what you want and what they want, and feeling good in your relationships.
Areas covered in the workshop
– The differences between good social skills and happy relationships.
– 5 Mendability routines to develop the brain functions involved in happy social behavior, such as self-awareness, gross motor, memory, facial recognition, brain chemistry regulation, sensory processing, etc.
Would this be suitable for parents of child aged 11 with ASD?
Yes, good question. The principles and activities we will teach can be applied with infants, children and adults.
Excited for the work shop , I’m sure it will be very helpful for everyone..
Me too! See you there in only a few days. What questions would you like to make sure we address in the presentation?
