Mendability for Autism selected to be featured in this season of Innovations on Discovery Channel
Mendability is a carefully constructed and scientifically driven protocol of sensory exercises called Sensory Enrichment Therapy.
Sensory Enrichment Therapy enables the brain to ameliorate the symptoms of autism. Sensory Enrichment activities can include placing hands in bowls of water with different temperatures, walking on surfaces with different textures, and other simple activities that are done using household items.
There are no medications involved, and it is fully complementary with standard autism care. Mendability further personalizes the therapy to customize the exercises based on the unique challenges facing each child.
“We are very excited to partner with Innovations to help present this new and innovative therapy which is helping many to reduce their symptoms of autism,” said Rich Bohne, CEO of Mendability.
In this episode, Innovations goes behind-the-scenes to explore how Mendability began, the clinical data behind the revolutionary new therapy, and an overview on how this therapy can be implemented in the home.
Guests in the program include Dr. Michael Leon of UCI, Lisa Ackerman of T.A.C.A. and Dr. Suzanne Reyes who explains how Mendability is helping her 18 year old daughter Calida.
